For those fitblrs who might be getting pregnant soon.
Even though I rarely recommend things (other than ebates), this is my second rec post. I found when I was pregnant I muddled through a lot and wished someone had done this.
Oh Earth Mama Angel Baby, how I lived off you. Seriously though. It helped more than plan peppermint tea. And I was so so sick. If you have morning sickness, this is a must, at least in my book.
Seaband anti-nausea gum saved. my. life. Because some days, the medication I was on to stop the vomiting just wasn’t cutting it. The ginger is a little overwhelming, and for someone who doesn’t even like ginger it was an adjustment. BUT it helped. It lived in my purse so I had it whenever I needed it.
Preggie pop drops helped a lot for the first 9 weeks (I was nauseated basically from conception, it was nuts haaha). The citric acid helps keep the nausea at bay. Once I started vomiting they didn’t help, but for some of you lucky ducks you don’t vomit, just get nauseated. These were also a life saver.
Ok, so Rainbow Light Organic Prenatal, why not just any old one? Cause all the others were way hard on my stomach. This one I’ve never had a problem with. And prenatals are so so important while pregnant (and before. And while trying).
Oh my Snoogle, how I still love thy. Seriously though. I was having a nearly impossible time sleeping before Pete got me the most romantic valentines day gift ever. After that, (more) blissful sleep. Especially the 3rd trimester, I don’t know if I would have gotten any sleep without my snoogle. After Theo was born I used it to help with nursing a few times too.
I didn’t get Earth Mama Angel Baby Happy Mama Spray until the end of my pregnancy. And I was SO sorry I hadn’t had it the whole time. It helped with the stress & the nausea & just made me feel a little better. Maybe it was solely the placebo effect, but I don’t care. It helped haha
There is something so different about reading some specifically for your growing baby, like Dr. Seuss’s Oh, Baby, the Places You’ll Go! A Book to be Read in Utero. I read it to my belly almost every night from 20 weeks (because that’s when I found it)to birth. When I started reading it to Theo after he was born he actually smiled. Like he recognized it. It really made me feel connected.
So, Ina Mays Guide to Childbirth is really for the women who are more interested in natural childbirth. That being said I think every one should read it, I made Pete read some of the birth stories. They’re just so amazing and really give you a different perspective on your body. On the power you have to go through birth. So different than anything you’d see on tv or even hear from an OB. It was so calming to me to read. Gave me a sense of peace and confidence in my body.
A Maxi Dress. “But I don’t look good in maxi dresses!” False. Every pregnant lady looks adorable in them. And they are so comfortable when, well, almost everything else if uncomfortable (especially of you’re pregnant over the summer).
The only thing not pictured is a woven wrap. But during pregnancy? YES! I wish I had had one!! You can actually use it to help with sciatic issues and to help hold up the belly!!!
I know this is long and I’m sorry. But pregnancy is so long and tough sometimes that having things that make it a little easier makes all the difference sometimes. ♥
I have Ina Mays boom also and agree it’s very good. I tried to birth my son naturally but there were complications. :-( Will have to try the Earth Mama stuff. Their products have a great rep. Thanks for posting!
